NFL.com makes two guarantees for Rams' 2018 season

As the offseason rages on, more and more media predictions for the Rams’ 2018 season continue to roll in. Adam Schein of NFL.com recently made his ‘nine guarantees’ for the upcoming NFL season, and two of them were about the Rams.

His first guarantee was that the Rams would make a “deep playoff run.” Schein said he had recently spoken with general manager Les Snead and came away impressed, saying “Snead cleaned up in trades and free agency, making a reigning division champ even stronger. Brandin Cooks, Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, and Ndamukong Suh were spectacular pickups. We all know this.”

He raved about coach Sean McVay, saying that Jared Goff “blossomed” under McVay, and guaranteed a playoff appearance and at least one victory. He also is high on their #FightForLA rival Chargers, saying that an all-Los Angeles Super Bowl isn’t just a “Hollywood pipe dream.”

Schein’s other Rams-related guarantee was that Aaron Donald would repeat as NFL Defensive Player of the Year. In last year’s guarantee column, Schein correctly predicted that Donald would win the award in 2017, and is doubling down this year. He called Donald “the best defensive player in the sport by any measuring stick,” also adding this: “This cat is the definition of a game wrecker. And now, with Ndamukong Suh joining him up front, Donald will have the opportunity to wreak even more havoc. He is going to ruin Sundays for offensive coordinators.”

Clearly, Schein is very high on this Rams team. While predictions mean little when it’s time to actually step on the field, it’s exciting for the team and its fans that the media continues to be so bullish on the Rams’ prospects as there hasn’t been this much offseason hype for a Rams team in quite some time. Considering the last time Schein made a guarantee about the Rams it turned out to be 100-percent true, fans should be quite happy with this news.
