I find it inconceivable that if the Rams went to Goodell and the NFL and said:
We don't want to wear the STL colors in LA, it will hurt us with the fan base, we really need to wear the LA colors that we wore when we left for now and then when we open the new stadium we want to rebrand with new uniforms, that the NFL would refuse them. That makes no sense whatsoever. This is special case where a team is returning to a market and the NFL surely recognizes that.
A better explanation of what is going on is the Rams didn't want to wear the old blue and yellows full time and never asked the NFL to allow that.
