Rams need a real backup QB they can develop and eventually rely on if and when Goff goes down. Mannion is not that guy.
Lauletta is a much better pro prospect with more upside than Sean Mannion ever was and the Rams took Mannion in round 3.
If McVay and his crew could develop him he could turn into another 4th round Kirk Cousins type pick and eventually hold great trade value.
I know the Rams still have lots of holes to fill and need LB’s as well, but they do have multiple picks in round 4amd there are lots of edge LB’s still on the board.
I personally believe in drafting a QB every year until you finally have 2 really good ones. If the value is there on day 3 why not? Very little risk and potentially very high reward at that point.
