Johnny Johnson was an outstanding pick gained from that 2nd round trade down, too.
Snead rocks!
It goes without saying, traders always need someone willing to do the trade . . .
But if he CAN make those trades, he needs to. I might be mixing up the numbers per round, but I'd like them to use one and trade one fourth; use two sixths and trade two. Trading this year's for next year's can almost always net an earlier draft round in the process, and sometimes more.
Would like to see the Rams do that regularly, if they have extras.
I also think he needs to improve on the value received for trading players for picks. To be honest, I think he sold short on Ogletree and Quinn. And in cases where you know you're not going to getting the best bang for the buck, I'd hold onto the players instead. IMO, they should have kept both of them. I think they were worth more to the Rams than they received in draft compensation. Better compensation and I likely change my mind on that.
But, overall? Yeah, I like what Snead has done in relative terms. Relative to other GMs, but not to my own amateur GM brilliance and genius!!!
I’ve gotta disagree about both Quinn and Ogletree, Billy.
Neither were good fits for Wade. Square pegs in a round hole kinda thing? I think that just offloading their salaries alone made their trades good moves. So, any picks coming to us were a bonus.
LB play in ‘18 will be the proof in the pudding, one way or another.
