Go Rams
I'm not trying to convince you of anything, as we all have our opinions and are welcome to them. But, since you're focusing completely on the negative, I would like to offer some balance.
Those picks you mentioned were all ... bad, granted. I think the biggest blunder was the trade down when we ended up with Rok and missed out on two stellar linebackers. He took a calculated risk and lost.
The GRob pick turned out to be a total waste. However at the time it was generally seen as a good pick by most people (notice I didn't say all). In other words, it was a consensus that it was a solid, safe pick. GRob turned out to be a bust, so by extension the pick was bad.
Let's look at his good picks:
2012:
Brockers
Jenkins
TruJo
Zuerlein
2013:
Ogletree
2014:
AD
Joyner
Gaines
2015:
Gurley
Havenstein
Jamon Brown
2016:
Goff
Higbee
Cooper
Hemingway
2017:
Everett
Kupp
JJ3
Reynolds
Ebukam
I do know that "good" is subjective and some probably won't agree with this list entirely and that's just fine by me. The point is that NO GM hits on all their picks and to be fair GMs should be compared to each other and not to someone's own standard. I have no idea how Snead compares in hit percentage to the other GMs but I'm pretty confident he wouldn't rank as clueless. And whether anyone wants to admit it or not, how these players are coached up and developed is a huge part of success or failure as well.
Anyway, just my two cents on the subject.
