Every week, last year, McVay would be asked about Austin. And every week he would say, he's getting more acclimated to the offense and we have plans for him. Even Austin said about half way into the season that his day to shine was coming. Paraphrasing of course. But Austin's time actually dwindled almost to nothing. So its hard to imagine that McVay is actually optimistic about Austin. I think he wants/needs Austin to be a fit for the offense. I think he wants to make him more of a receiver. And all of that is fine IF that is who Austin is... I guess we will find out. I still think he gets traded for next to nothing. Hard to believe that a guy who can put up 10 TD's and nearly 1000 yards in a middle school offense can't find a spot in a pro offense.
Maybe it really was the wrist and hamstring injuries early on the set him back. But you would have thought he would play more as the season went on... not less and then almost none.
