My point was solely about how Donald is likely to see things.
We know he feels underpaid. We know he doesn't want to wait.
If the Rams sign a high profile DT before paying him, Donald is not going to like that.
Whatever anyone else thinks about who is to blame for the long negotiation is irrelevant. A pissed off Donald will be harder to re-sign. Even if one believes he is pissed off for poor reasons.
My point is a simple one, RFL.
Donald himself is the reason that he hasn’t been extended.
Therefore, why should he be pissed if another player gets a nice contract?

i doubt Donald sees it your way.
For example, if he thinks he's worth $22M and the Rams are offering $18M, he's not gonna think he's the reason he hasn't been extended.
In this scenario it would perfectly logical for him to be pissed that HE doesn't have a shiny new contract.
We don't know that this scenario isn't the case...
