Of course, this assumes the coaching staff can reign Peters/Talib personalities in.....and keep them in control. Last year's Rams team was (together with the Vikings) one of the darlings of the NFL last year. McVay is personable.....always shows respect..they are (again) one of the youngest teams in the league....their best player (and the best player in the league at his position) is respectfully quiet.
Aside from the talent that Peters/Talib bring......this defense will now come out of it's shell. I recognize they have some depth issues at LB, and are in bad need of an outside rush LB. But this team also has some good budding talent (Ebukam, Longacre, Littleton) who can really flourish with the addition of the swagger-bringin' Peters/Talib. Honestly, I'm more of an "act like you've been there before" person. I don't always like the trash talkin' theatrical type of play. Swagger and trash talk don't always go together. However, I'm not that naive to say they don't often cross over. I would also admit that most young talent on defense would LOVE to play on a unit that has top-grade DB's with swagger to take the pressure off everyone else. The young guns can focus on pinning their ears back and letting it fly.....then lining up and doing it again.
The curious thing to watch is whether any of this carries over to the offense. It usually doesn't, and quite frankly you don't really want this for an offensive unit. You usually want to offense to be robotic and systematically disassemble the opposing defense with 1000 cuts.....with some modest swagger.
The evolution will be very fun to watch. But again....I just hope the coaches can keep it under control.
