I think you have to be selective with your conversations. And to some extent you know what you're getting into with some.
I thought I would really enjoy the board this past year when the Rams were finally winning but I didn't. I don't really understand the dynamics of the board, it's weird. Cliques? idk
Anyway, perhaps the answer is to just find people you usually agree with and stick with them and those you don't agree... just ignore them. I had a lot of good conversations with Randy K (if anyone remembers who he was) but he couldn't take it either...
My biggest pet peeves are the non-stop bashing of players "i.e. waste of space" crap, the agendas ughh, and the idea some posters here who think they can change the minds of others...
My advice, if I had any, is to not take this board seriously. Although I admit I miss the old days... but then maybe I'm just older and more crotchety...
