LOS ANGELES RAMS 2018 OFFSEASON ACTIVITY



LOS ANGELES – Below is a timeline of the Los Angeles Rams’ 2018 offseason transactions and staff additions to date. For more information, please contact a member of the Rams communications department.



PLAYER TRANSACTIONS



March 14, 2018:

· Marcus Peters, Cornerback – Acquired in a trade from the Kansas City Chiefs for undisclosed draft picks…2016 First-Team All-Pro was the No. 18 overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Chiefs out of Washington…since entering the league in 2015, has recorded 19 interceptions (most in the NFL during that span)…the Oakland, Calif. Native started all 45 career games played, including 14 last season.



· Aqib Talib, Cornerback – Acquired through a trade with the Denver Broncos for undisclosed draft picks…entering his 11th season in the NFL after splitting time with the Broncos (2014-17), New England Patriots (2012-13), and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2008-12) who drafted him 20th overall…career totals include 454 tackles (355 solo), one sack, 34 interceptions (most in the NFL since 2008), 119 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries…ranks fourth all-time in NFL history with 10 interceptions returned for touchdowns…a 2016 Associated Press First-Team All-Pro selection and five-time Pro Bowler (2013-17).



· Nickell Robey-Coleman, Cornerback – Re-signed to the Rams after originally joining the team as a free agent in 2017…last season with the Rams, the former USC Trojan finished the year with 50 total tackles (36 solo), nine passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery…entered the league as an undrafted free agent signed by the Buffalo Bills in 2013.



· Robert Quinn, Outside Linebacker – Traded to the Miami Dolphins for undisclosed draft picks.



· Alec Ogletree, Linebacker – Traded to the New York Giants for undisclosed draft picks.





March 12, 2018:

· The following players received one-year tenders (through 2018):

o Malcolm Brown, Running Back (Exclusive Rights Player)

o Troy Hill, Cornerback (Exclusive Rights Player)

o Sam Ficken, Kicker (Exclusive Rights Player)

o Matt Longacre, Defense End (Restricted Free Agent)



March 9, 2018:

· Jake McQuaide, Long Snapper – Agreed to terms with McQuaide on a three-year contract extension through 2020…totaled 1,037 clean snaps through his first seven seasons in the NFL…spent his entire career with the Rams and originally signed with the club in 2011…two-time Pro Bowl selection (2017, 2018).



March 8, 2018:

· Sam Shields, Cornerback – Signed to the Rams as a free agent…spent seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers (2010-16) where he started 62 of 80 games played and amassed 251 tackles (205 solo), 18 interceptions, 90 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery…boasts a Packers team record of five career postseason interceptions, after recording his fifth during the 2014 NFC Championship Game…spent the 2017 season as free agent.



March 6, 2018:

· Lamarcus Joyner, Safety – Designated franchise player (non-exclusive franchise tag)…now the sixth player in team history to receive the franchise tag designation (Ryan McNeil, 1997-1998; Kevin Carter, 2000-01; Orlando Pace, 2003-05; Oshiomogho Atogwe, 2008-09; Trumaine Johnson, 2015-16)…drafted by the Rams in the second round (41st overall) in 2014…participated in 42 games with 27 starts and one playoff start…recorded 26- career tackles (191 solo) with 24 passes defensed, three interceptions and 4.0 sacks through four NFL seasons.





STAFF ADDITIONS

Head Coach Sean McVay added the following coaches to his staff this offseason:

· Liam Coen, Assistant Wide Receivers (Announced: 2/23/18)

· Matt Daniels, Assistant Special Teams Coach (Announced: 2/23/18)

· Jedd Fisch, Senior Offensive Assistant (Announced: 1/24/18)
