thanks for keeping the dialogue friendly. I apologize if i get snarky. i think the main difference is i admit that i am speculating on what happened, where you accept what is told as fact...it is not.
here is why i believe what i do. It has been said that McVay blew the Rams away in his coaching interview. His goal was for it to be impossible for the Rams to say no to him. He knows how candidates usually interview for these HC jobs, so he was going to one up the field. He went in to the interview with a hugely detailed plan, and it has been said this involved players he would keep, get rid of, and acquire in free agency. I BELIEVE this. This is a young man that does not just study offense, but literally every position on the field. His defensive players were shocked at his level of understanding of their positions,
and he turned the D over to Wade, but this is how he is wired. Do not tell me he did not go into that interview without mentioning his free agency plans.
Snead is not on this level. He just is not. He is a good wheeler and dealer, and that is all. he had enough say in all the poor players acquired in the Fisher years and deserved to be fired. He is still here, so I will come to terms with that and hope player evaluation is in fact a collaborative effort, and I hope McVay and Wade have a large say.
