start with the medicals
guys who had shoulder, knee, chest, arm, hand, name a part......injuries and have been rehabbing? this is that chance to see how much attention they've placed on their work to help get better. OR, how severe an injury might be.
Now, I don't know that Price ever had an earlier injury of this sort, and accidents happen.
But for a big field of football players with aspirations to get drafted, and drafted early? The medicals play a fine part.
The bench press is exactly where a lineman would show how well an upper body injury is coming along. I think it's not the confirmation of what you know, it's the Oops part of the "show" that they keep an eye towards.
Sure, the silly emphasis on the 40 is that. Overweighted. But from the time you start playing this game, even the lineman look to run that 40.
there are other parts to "show" that warrant attention. and honestly, you see some of these big guys run, and it is an amazing sight to see them fly. The kids are enormous and that they can get trucking like that is good fun to watch.
And, yeah, some of the runners will show some remarkable skills. They run fast, but can't turn a route. As noted on radio yesterday, they have to "chatter" their feet to get into the break, whereas others will burn the break without any loss of speed.
Some of them will jump through the roof. For a guy rehabbing a knee that would be a good sign? Or that burst off the line in the 40? Or the shuttle?
I think Kupp is part of that equation. Didn't play the track star, but when you talk the kid? You find out more.
I'm sure talking to some these guys reveals all sorts curious stuff, good and awful. With "tough" background or improprieties this may one of the few times in "pressure" meeting room where something shows.
Some folks here may see this as absurd, but as an offseason past time to fill time? I'm in.
