Thanks for the two votes for my town .
Pasadena is very nice place to consider .
Norton Simon Museaum .
Westin , Hilton Hotels are fine .
There is a nice cultural mix and the area is roughly a twenty minute drive from downtown L.A. and does have good selection of restaurants , shopping and theatres to enjoy .
Sheer luck may come your way with a celebrity brush .
I've seen several including Oscar Delahoya , John Nieghbor ( Olympian swimmer broadcaster) ,,,or even Ram related in the area.
I've run into Terry Crews , fist bumped the Super Bowl Ring with Justin Watson .
And spied Jessie Eisbenberg of Zombie land Adventureland ,The Facebook movie a arm's length away in either the Arclight theatre or in the Old Town area which is a common choice for tourists and others to enjoy.
I could easily name more if I went to local media types .
So if you stay elsewhere ,,,, at least visit Pasadena's east or West sides .
East side being a bit better for home purchaces .
If you are the brainy type or want to take notes for prospective college students check out Cal Tech in the area .
I've heard per dollar it ranks right up there with MIT nationally far as getting a fantastic background in the sciences .
Definitely has the resume with Nobel awards .
Then there's JPL labs right within the same area .
Quite a few nuggets for different tastes or purposes .
One area lacking for some .
No strip bars sorry .
