Superb work; dazzling really
I've taken your draft, Deadpool, Alyos, and an indie and come up with this.
First, the trade down?
Might be there. I am starting to believe that perhaps a club will want Lamar Jackson, and we'd be cheaper to work with.......perhaps...
1. Mike Hughes
consensus first rounder among the three of you. If we were to get a trade down and get the kid? We win.
3 a. Alex Cappa
certainly held his own at the Senior Bowl. And being post senior bowl allowed to dream here. I like his size over T. Crosby of Oregon, whom Deadpool liked. I just watch the mammoth Whitworth, and Hav, and prefer larger bodies to make rushers take the long way to the pocket. Curious to see how the small school kid does against the big names.
3 b. Carter / Nwosu
Carter is more of "name" for me, whereas, I've seen Nwosu plenty. Like his upside. Is not the perfect edge guy, but could be quite a rotation guy, and has lot of upside. they are not the same player. Carter is huge; Nwosu is way smaller. One way or another some bodies nearer the line of scrimmage are coming our way. I do like Tim Settle, but not sure about where his draft value sets. Combine will sort this out well.
4. Josey Jewell
honestly this is a find by Deadpool. And I know it wouldn't be popular to go back to back with LB types, but from all accounts Jewell has the goods. I could swap straight around, and take Nwosu here, and move Jewell up the board into the latter 3rd. Jewell is coming out early, and partially why he probably drops. Also, might be a better depth player to push Hager, and give Wade a chance to move Ogletree around more.
5. Frank Ragnow
Dozen has Ragnow a round earlier. Just guessing that center isn't the sexy selection and wouldn't even surprise me to see the Rams move up at some point with triple 6 spots to toy with.
Dallas Goedert: I could easily be swayed by picking this kid in the 5th. Sure sounds like a kid with upside. McShay moved him into his first round mock? Well, there's that. All 32 clubs have been on this kid. Barring that, center is a big value pick.
6. Smythe TE
I'd be completely content with this selection.
6 b Fountain WR
I'm in. See special teams have needs, too. Always a chance that Cody Davis leaves. Mike Thomas, Cooper, and Reynolds are all fine; Tavon Austin gone. It's all part and parcel for why you keep churning the roster. Reynolds is pretty thin. There's a group of later round WRs that have upside
UCLA Lasley who left early when his QB bailed. Ateman, Dante Pettis, and even Deon Cain. Cain makes me nervous. He's a big play waiting to happen, or can vanish for entirety. And I really love Dontay Burnett of USC. Another skinnny kid, but showed up pretty much from his first game. But Fountain stands out. Why? Cuz Les Snead is a big Senior Bowl guy, and the kid stood out. Did it surprise our draft guys that Fountain did NOT get a combine invite.
6 c Kiser
still on my linebacker kick or your linebacker kick......ha
I've completely missed on Nose Tackle.
Deadpool took Senat (small?)
Alyo Lotulelei, (also undersized?)
Dozen Settle
I like Settle,
Like his production and size.
Don't like that he came out early. However, he could emerge as a far wiser pick than going back to back in the middle rounds for edge and LB help.
Have to have big bodies inside there with AD, and Brock.
btw, the offseason sucks
