And let’s be honest. Do the Niners beat the Rams if the Rams don’t pull 18 starters? I don’t think so.

I’m not saying that Jimmy G won’t be a fine QB. Just saying that the jury is still out and $27.5 million per is a helluva big commitment, given the small sample size.

One last thing to ask ourselves. Would Belichick part with a QB that he thought had an elite type future for just a 2nd? When his starter is already 40 years old?

Unless we subscribe to the conspiracy theory about Belichick wanting to stick it to Kraft so bad that he would cut off his own nose to spite his face?

Or did Belichick see flaws in Garoppolo that he didn’t want to deal with?
