Somewhat related to this . . . but not exactly . . . I'm thinking about some of Gurley's attempts to stretch the ball to get around the . . . . What the heck is that thing called in the corner of the endzone? The pylon? He and many other players seem to be doing exactly the opposite of what the league is kinda, sorta, maybe, maybe not calling for. In a sense, if you think about some of the official reviews and overturns, players should never try that, cuz they can't be sure if it's going to be judged as possession at the moment of crossing over.
Wasn't the one by Gurley that called a TB where he lost control before hitting the pylon? Hated it but actually agreed with it.
A very similar play happened to the Jets vs. NE. In that instance, I thought it was a poor call to not deem it a TD.
Jesse James not getting the TD in the PIT vs. NE game as a bad call too IMO.
It's just a coincidence that these things seem to happen so often with the Patriots involved, right?
