This all defense approach is unnecessary...

Why would the Steelers draft Schuester when they have Brown, Bryant and a powerful offense?

Why? Because good teams continue to strengthen a strength. Baltimore did it for years in defense. They were the best but still used #1's to strengthen a powerful defense. New England used high picks on QBs even though they had Tom Brady. New England drafted 2 TEs in one draft Gronkowski and Hernandez.

I liken this fix it all on one side of the ball approach to the little Dutch boy plugging the dam with his finger...then another leak occurs in another area and he frantically runs over to stop that leak...then the next and next.

The Rams need a balanced draft and free agent approach necessitating adding to the defense AND offense. The offense is not finished, including the playmaker position, and assuming the players we have will improve and suffice is frankly short sided IMO.

Yet, we have a lot of young guys on defense and the same "improvement" theory isn't applied to defense by those on this board applying such a theory to offense.

We need some help on defense but to think we need to focus solely on defense early in the draft/and or free agency (exclusively of our own free agents) is ridiculous.
