The guy has a very special movement set. The way he uses his upper and lower body in tandem is rare, and I can honestly say the guys blocking him always look like they are fighting to keep their balance ... more uncomfortable than most players Ive seen. Like they don't ever feel like they have a hold of him.
Like carrying a heavy box that's slightly too wide for your arms? It always feels like it's falling. If he made 23 I'd draft him in a heartbeat I think.
I like your similes. Very apt description of what he does. He would just be amazing paired with Donald.
Yeah, unfortunately, I think you're right. He's probably not there when the Rams pick.
At that point, they should just do the best they can to match "need" with BPA.
Duh, as the young kids used to say. But if I had my druthers, after DT I look for best ILB, edge-rusher, corner and O-line. Whitworth will be 36, and I think they can do better than Hav and Brown on the right side. They were "solid" and played tough. But I'd love to see All-Pros there instead of that. I'd love to see the kinds of lines the Rams used to have in the late 60s, 70s and 80s, when they'd routinely have three/four guys on All-Pro teams just from the O-line.
As mentioned, FA is going to be huge, especially without that Second Rounder. I hope they can upgrade the O-line that way, and find a corner too. Would rather have young vets man those spots than later round rooks.
The Rams are soooo close. Sooo close!! Payne, if he's there, gets them a LOT closer.
