Doesn't that mean his results should be better?
His results should be better than what?
In theory yes. But what's the average hit rate for 1st and 2nd round draft picks? What about for teams drafting at the top of those rounds? Do you know? If the hit rate increases, by how much?
To illustrate further...
Snead has had seven 1st round picks since 2012; some at the top of the round, some at the bottom.
Brockers
TA
Ogletree
GRob
Donald
Gurley
Goff
Out of the seven, I see 5 hits and 2 clear misses for a 71% success rate.
Is that bad? Is it good? Is it average?
Without a benchmark, how will anyone know?
Out of that seven, I see anywhere from 3 to 5 pro bowl caliber players. Is that bad, good, or average?
Snead has had the following 2nd round picks in his tenure with the Rams:
Pead
Quick
Jenkins
Joyner
Havenstein
Everett
I see two spectacular busts, 3 starters which typically are considered hits, and 1 unknown.
Is that bad? Is it good? Is it average?
Without a benchmark, how will anyone know? Discuss...
