The context to me isn't resting. It is going into a game where the mindset is the result does not matter. You have 7 full days of thinking in that context.
I wouldn't think of it as resting here. That would be if you were off for 2 weeks and instead of practicing ever day, you give them a couple of days off. That to me is resting.
After the Rams lost that game, I felt it wasn't a good thing and laying down against the 49ers was an unfavorable thing. However, after reviewing the entire NFL playoffs this year more closely, I see a strong trend and think there may be much more here.
The thread for the most part for me isn't an opinion rather than stating facts that teams that played to win in the last week did much better than the teams that tanked it. Most once to brush that off as some coincidence,
