Without someone jumping to their defense. I'm not asking for perfect. I'm asking for improvement.
I just don't get it. If you're going to defend them, then defend them on the points. Don't use other "good" points to discounts areas that are in question. We have had enough of the accolades. We got knocked out of round 1 in the playoffs. That means we need to get better...unless you are satisfied with just making the playoffs.
As a reminder...I was defending Goff last year when many were freaking out and giving up on him. I'm not here to pick on them. If I'm critiquing them, I like them. If I'm ripping on them, I don't (like Fisher, Robinson, Spagnuolo, Pettis, Everett...I've got a long list).
So yes...McVay is not perfect. But, Belichick wasn't perfect either. He improved. I don't think critiquing McVay and asking for improvement,, seeing flaws...is a bad thing. But...it is a thing.
It is possible to criticize someone, look for improvement, and yet, think they are doing a good job. I'm certain McVay would agree with me.
