He's probably best characterized as "competent". His last few gigs, however, haven't turned out very well.
Most recently as Indy's QB coach, as the Georgia OC in the year Richt was fired, and as the Ram's OC (no description necessary), he doesn't have much in the way of accomplishments to write home about.
I would love to have been a fly on the wall in Seattle's offices to better understand why such a highly thought of franchise with a star QB would hire such a well-traveled, middling coach for such an important position.
