The 49ers play 2 fourth place teams outside their division because they don't play any within their division. As the fourth place team their division games are 2 games each against 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.
It is absolutely true the the Rams' "crossover" games are harder than the 49ers'. But that fact is exactly balanced by the fact that the 49ers' division games are harder than the Rams'.
All I care about is the Rams schedule, and they are playing tougher team, one fewer home game, and no home prime time games.
