His #s don't warrant the big payday
but then again it's not always just about the #s ...and his 8 TDs isn't an unimpressive #.
Does Sammy open things up for the other receivers...imo Yes.
Does Sammy do good downfield blocking imo Yes.
Did the Rams lead the league in scoring with the current nucleus we know the answer is yes. He's 24 a baby still,so definitely has time to grow chemistry with Goff.
For these reasons,I think you sign him up.
My concerns with him are lt just doesn't seem like he gives that max effort all the time or wants lt as bad as others.... this could be just perception but that's the appearance from where I sit on couch.
In your scenario in a Watkins or Quinn pick 1 ...even though I'd hate to lose Quinn I'd spend my money on the younger guy...try and sign or draft a cheaper edge rusher
All this being said if it's known within organization that Watkins is a "me first guy" or any kind of cancer in locker room I'd have no problem letting him walk
