Here's the thing: If Watkins wants Julio Jones money, he's gone. If he wants Marvin Jones money, he'll stay. In other words, if wants $14 million per year, he'll need to find it elsewhere (highly unlikely). If he'll take $8 mil a year, even $ 9, the Rams will keep him. It's really that simple I think. He's proven to be a good teammate, an excellent and willing blocker, seems to have a good role for the team, taking the top off of defenses.
In LA, he'll have a chance for wins, playoffs, and he knows it. But is he willing to share the spotlight with other guys? He is NEVER going to be "the man" here because there isn't going to be one in McVay's offense outside of Todd Gurley. The ball will get spread around too much for that.
