Rams are going to have to score at least 30 (probably more) to beat the Saints in part because Brees is on fire.
Our secondary is going to have to play well, but it's up to our front 7 to get pressure on Brees. If they can't pressure him, it's game over.
But the real D key is that the Rams are going to have to control, at least, the most potent run game in the league. No way they stop it. But if they can keep the total run yards to around 150 they'll be OK.
McVay is going to have to not play it as vanilla/conservative against the Saints as he did against the Vikes. I'm expecting we'll see more 4th down attempts in this game than any before it because the Rams aren't going to be able to score FGs and win.
Frankly, while I'm disappointed that Woods is out, I'm anxious to see what Watkins and Kupp can do. I also think that Austin has to be a part of this. I suspect we're going to see quite a bit of Pharaoh Cooper and perhaps Thomas.
I think ultimately (for the Rams) this game is going to focus on Watkins and Gurley. Watkins NEEDS to be the man. And Gurley has to get a lot more touches and yards than against the Vikes.
