As I say elsewhere, I don't think the comparison with '99 holds up that well. That was a veteran team other than Torry and, in a sense, Warner. Also, that6 offense DESTROYED teams. We are scoring points, but I don't really see us turning defenses inside out as we did in '99.
In '99, people cited the easy schedule and I didn't care. You could SEE the transcendent level of dominance.
I just don't think we're there yet. I hope I'm wrong.
For us to keep the run going as it is, we need to raise our game beyond what it has been. McV is generally capable of doing that, but I don't see a reason to expect it. Not yet.
We'll know a lot more Sun. evening. Beat the Vikes and the W/L game swings in our favor. And we will have demonstrated a new level of competitiveness.
