There's a long history between these two teams

The Giants and Rams played in New York for the first time on Nov 13, 1938.

I wasn't there for that one, but I was there in 1970 when the Rams were out of the playoffs but the Giants only needed to beat the Rams on final game of the season to make the playoffs. I remember the headlines in the New York Daily News that week. It read "ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS RAMS SOUP"

Well, the game started badly for the Giants when Bob Tucker their star TE broke his leg on the first play of the game. The Rams defense led by Merlin Olsen, who played like a man possessed, simply destroyed the Giants offense, they were all over Tarkenton, and the Rams crushed them on the scoreboard 31-3. That was the end of the Giants dream of playoffs in 1970.

I was there in 1978 as well, but thats another story.
