I also think they were influenced by the level of competition and maybe were a bit skeptical of how good Wentz was really going to be or get at the next Level.
Goff at least had the benefit of years in a big time conference and had some signature games interconference wise also against D-I.
I think you could say it was a no lose situation between the two .
They both have the ability to make tight throws .
Remember Wentz basically had a smaller sample size even at North Dakota St having served time as a backup and also having missed games due to injury .
His draft presence was almost like a Clark Kent story or a Wiley Coyote acme Hero formula being mail ordered and enbibed ..he had some buzz coming into his last year but it just took off like a rocket.
So you could have some qualms about him naturally.
