Thats kinda how i see it.
It just unfortunate that you have to actually 'hand' him the ball, though. It woulda been nice if he could catch punts
and passes, etc.
They will miss him next year. But one hopes the offense will gel, and make up for his loss in other ways.

He can catch passes. Not as a pure receiver type, but still--it's on his resume. McVay just hasn't really figured out how to use him that way yet.
Last year he had 58 receptions and 3 TDs as a receiver, and 2015, along with 52 rushes at 8.3 a carry, he had 52 receptions and 5 TDs as a receiver.
Which 2 players haven't they fully integrated into the passing game? Austin and Watkins. Which two players missed OTAs and most if not all of camp? Austin and Watkins. Completely different kinds of players but both missed time and both are not being fully utilized yet.
Just catching the ball as a receiver, btw, Austin has 3 fumbles in 5 years (really 4 1/2 years) and that's on 188 receptions. So he does not fumble as a receiver. (Actually Torry Holt had a higher fumble percentage on receptions than Austin does...Tavon's fumble percentage on receptions is just about the same as Isaac Bruce.)
