Sorry, oldschool.
An objective comparison shows that Pharoh is superior to Tavon on both KOR and on PR duties. He just is, even setting aside Tavon’s muff issues. In short, Pharoh has beat him out in both places.
Tavon is maybe our 7th best WR option. Six other WR’s have beat him out.
So, he’s reduced to decoy duty and an occasional sweep.
He threw a great block yesterday that allowed Gurley to score. Kudos to him for that.
But I have to ask two questions...
Is Tavon our only WR that can throw a block? Obviously, that’s a rhetorical question.
And my other question is this. Did we trade up for Tavon and give him that extension for his blocking skills? He’s failed at all of the things that Fisher expected from him when he was drafted AND extended.
Why take a better O weapon off the field in order to give Tavon his snaps? That’s the thing that just irritates the heck out of me, tbh.
I can’t explain my position any better than that, man.
