They keep referring to the aftermath of the Rams blocked punt as being like a rugby scrum.
Not it wasn't. It was nothing like a scrum.
That is like me saying football is all about big guys running into one another.
However, it absolutely WAS like a rugby maul, when somebody picks up the ball and is helped driving it forward by his team mates.
A scrum is where you have 8 players on both sides of the ball who start from a static position when the ball is fed in by the scrum-half from the team who already has possession.
I get most people will wonder what I'm going on about this and few if any will really care, but if you're a sports commentator at least know what you're talking if you're going to reference other sports, or maybe just shut up?
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
