Peterson was drafted in 2007. The Rams have been horrible every year they played him.
In 2012, in the first half of the season, famously, they started 9 different linemen cause of injuries. Then they got the starters back and immediately improved. That started with the game where they took the 49ers into overtime and tied. They were actually playing well in that stretch...but let down against the Vikes.
From the SF game through to the game before Minn, they went 3-1-1, and that included a win over the (eventual) NFC champion Harbaugh 9ers, plus a comeback win on the road against Buffalo. Buffalo was of course not a great team, but it was a comeback win, with a great and memorable game winning drive. They were 6-6-1 at that point.
Then they let Peterson run all over them. He got 212 yards that day including an 82 yard TD run.
So they were playing well at that point of that season when they let AP get the better of them.
