They had to have time on the clock after recovering the onside. Besides he had kicked one earlier this season at a longer distance. Rather than being "nuts" it just didn't work.
No. His long was a 47 yarder. Missed earlier from same distance...very bad call IMO
Wasting a few more seconds would have been worth trying to get into manageable range especially considering the Rams were letting them have all the short underneath stuff.
