Those 2 guys don't seem to be garnering the same excitement that they were getting a year or two ago. Apparently, Winston suddenly has accuracy issues and now Mariota is an injury prone guy. I'm wondering about Carr being able to stay healthy also.
Anyway, the "young guns" from the last 3 drafts are still feeling their way into the position.
2014-2016 is what I'm looking at. Not quite enough games to say what 2017 is just yet. 2013 was a bust QB year. Also, 2012 and before you know what you've got after 5 years, these guys are all established vets (can you believe that Russell Wilson will be 29 years old next month? He's 6 years older than Goff!)
So I see 6 guys as the Young Guns
2014 - Carr
2015 - Winston, Mariota
2016 - Goff, Wentz, Dak
At this point its unclear how these guys will shake out. They've all shown that they have a high upside, still a long way to go.
Right now, the 2016 guys look to be the hot commodities. I guess that's whats behind Cowherd's rant.
