So, on the last drive, three passes: one was fine, one was poor, one was terrible. I'm as huge a Goff fan as anyone on this board.... just noting that he hasn't come up huge with a signature game-winning drive. Not YET.
I just find this statement very empty and lacks any punch as Goff was the Rams QB as they beat Dallas in Dallas and they came from behind to do that.
This is what you call nitpicking by a fan. Sorry, but, you really missed on that statement.

... from Goff.
But some of this stuff is the dictionary definition of picking gnat s**t out of pepper.
Oh Great Ram In The Sky, and Mr. Bad Guy, I respectfully disagree. I recognize it's hard to acknowledge flaws in Goff's game when his overall play has been AMAZING and he deserves all the credit in the world.
All I'm sayin' is... at crunch time, at the very end of two games, on two crucial final drives, Goff has suffered from a terrible misread of the defense that led to a horrible throw. Against Washington, the misread led to an INT. Against Dallas, the misread led to a throw into triple coverage that was (luckily) dropped by their safety.
In my opinion, this is not a "nit-pick." (My ten year old daughter recently contracted her first-ever case of head lice... so BELIEVE ME, I know what "nit picking" REALLY is!!)
I am a huge fan of Goff and have been since the very beginning. I love it how McVay praises his "unflappable" demeanor. Soon, with experience, Goff will show the poise of his idol #16 "Joe Cool" and deliver with clutch throws during the last drive of the game. IMHO, he has not shown us that YET.
To me, the pick vs. WASH and the near-pick to Higbee were concerning. "Concerning" only because I have such high hopes that this kid will someday bring us to the promised land. At some point, I hope he shows more of what max calls the "clutch gene."
Goff HAS been CLUTCH in many situations and in many plays and has been nothing short of phenomenal overall. My "criticism", such as it is, is confined exclusively to his choices on two LAST DRIVES of two games.
Goff has shown (to me) that he can be clutch throughout the first 58 minutes of a game. And at the very very end-- in the last two minutes-- I fully hope and expect that Goff will come through on a "last drive" very soon.
