Rams activate CB Troy Hill after serving his two-game suspension

The Los Angeles Rams announced a few roster moves on Tuesday ahead of their Week 3 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. With Troy Hill having served his two-game suspension, the team added him to the active roster for Thursday’s game.
In order to make room for Hill on the 53-man roster, the Rams waived cornerback Kevin Peterson. Additionally, they terminated the practice squad contract of Cassanova McKinzy, possibly hinting that they’d like to re-sign Peterson to take his place.
Hill joined the Rams in 2015 as a waiver addition and played 12 games last season. Prior to joining the Rams, Hill made brief stops in Cincinnati and New England.
Although he’s relatively unproven and doesn’t have a single interception in his career, he can contribute right away. Kayvon Webster is dealing with a shoulder injury and the Rams are relatively thin at cornerback heading into Week 3.
Sean McVay said on Monday he anticipates Hill playing a role on Thursday night, and hopes Webster can contribute, too.
“We’re anticipating him being ready to go, talking about Troy, and we’re hopeful that Kayvon will be too and then how that shakes out at the corner positon will be figured out as the week progresses,” he said.
