First, though, a thousand thanks to B&G and anyone else that takes the time to put these stills together for our enlightenment.
My thoughts...
I've read that McVay's schemes are causing receivers to get open. Often, multiple receivers. That's a GOOD thing, isn't it? Lol. I've seen it occasionally on my TV, fans have seen it from the stands, and these All 22 stills definitely point it out. Goff only needs to find one of them per play.
Another thing I've read is that McVay likes his QB's to spread the ball around. McVay could care less if a given WR gets his 1000 yards or not. He wants to keep the D guessing for 60 minutes. Makes sense to me. Goff is definitely spreading the ball around.
We've got a very young QB and he's learning on the fly. So yeah, he's gonna miss things at times. But he's seeing more and more things as he gains experience. I think he's getting outstanding post game film review from these coaches. And I think he's gonna "get there", eventually. He's already getting the yards and the points with only one int through 2 games. Hard to be too unhappy with THAT, huh?
Meanwhile, we've gotta be patient. With the QB, the HC, and every single player on this O that's straining to improve this formerly 32nd ranked O. Gonna take some more time. But who can say that they're not seeing the progress? Certainly not me.
