Its not necessarily wrong. He doesn't mean it for many but he doesn't mean it for few either.
I don't have time to get an example but its something like... "We have a handful of leaders like Brockers, Donald, Woods, Goff... I could go on and on" or "we have a handful of good coaches". But he doesn't mean he thinks they have 2 or 3 good coaches or 2 or 3 good players. He means several but since the number is still relatively small, its not really wrong either. lol I wouldn't use the term like he does... in fact I've never heard it used like he does... hence the post.
