McVay uses the term "handful" in an odd way to me. I have heard him use the term the same way before. His use of the term seems to mean "several". For example, last week he was asked about the players being voted captains and he said there were a handful of players that could have been named captain and then went on to name several players. He does the same thing in this interview. Just thought it was odd since he has a good control of the language.
He speaks so fluently. I'm not sure I have ever heard someone speak off the cuff so quickly without pausing. I will say "um" twenty times when ordering a sandwich. He says it just a handful of times in the entire show. There have been interviews where he never says "um".
Anyway, for me its a joy to listen to. Especially after how painful it was to listen to Fisher.
I wonder if what he says about the limited use of Austin is true or if it just coach speak. He also says he plans to get him more involved and genuinely sounds excited about him. I think the general "disappointment" in Austin, by the fans, is so strong it makes me question whether McVay is being 100 percent truthful. I mean teams still have to prepare for Tavon, so it makes sense to say he is in the plans whether he really is or not. I guess its something we will find out.
