...Then AD becomes dead to me as a Ram.
Sounds like emotion talking. That's fine... but it just means that it's probably not the soundest judgment.
Not emotion, dz.
Just business. A very unemotional business decision.
I could make a case that those that advocate giving AD whatever he wants are the ones making an emotional decision, actually.
You're a very smart guy. Think about that.
I can't imagine any executive making a statement that so and so player is dead to me.
I definitely can't imagine them doing so and then following that up with a teach-them-a-lesson strategy when doing so will severely hurt your team in the future.
You're smarter than that so I can only conclude it's emotion. I'm a fan of Demoff but if he did such a thing, I'd be the first on the 'fire him' bandwagon.
Teaching him a lesson has little upside and a huge downside.
I don't believe there is any one here who is advocating giving AD 'whatever he wants' so that statement is immaterial/straw man and doesn't require much further thought.
My point was that there are larger issues here, dz. As you know very well.
These larger issues transcend whether AD plays for us this year, and certainly transcend whether AD has hurt feelings.
Therefore, a hard line strategy is warranted, imo.
BTW, that "dead to me" was a throw away line meant as my private feelings as the executive involved. Certainly not as a public statement.
But you knew that, didn't you?
