I don't see it that way myself.
In fact I don't think Goff would be as far along as he is this year if he actually WERE a rookie.
People who reduce 2016 to one thing are, it always seems to me, exaggerating that thing and neglecting others.
One of the things that made 2016 what it was, was Goff being THAT green as a rookie. He would have been THAT green no matter who drafted him.
If anything I see McVay as benefitting from getting ahold of Goff AFTER his rookie season, when he has already gotten over everything rookies have to get over.
