he looked deep, (deeper than most completions went), on every pass play. I got the feeling McVay was calling plays specifically meant to force Goff to go through his progressions.
I haven't mentioned this because... well, Goff did great, and i'm happy... but... (not a big BUT).... it did seem to me Goff was a bit tardy in committing to his 2nd, 3rd, progression. NOT his delivery.. which is very quick, but the decision to come off the 'primary' OR - at least turn his head from downfield to the shallower routes - (shallow route may have been the primary to begin with). It's not fatal tardiness but I sense that Goff is still looking for 'open' rather than seeing 'coming open'. - JamesJM
