action I mean.. but what I have seen is very promising. He seems to have those 'extra' physical skills you see in the best WR's.
I was somewhat surprised to see both Watkins and Woods running so many 'under' routes... also pleased by it. It truly seems to me that what I believe to be newly installed diversity in individual plays GREATLY opens up play possibilities in every situation. So much so.. that it actually gives me a better appreciation for what Goff is having to learn AND his ability to do so.
It's not that I think Fisher's offensive playbook was 'vanilla', (I only think vanilla comes in regarding their tendency to do the same thing in specific situations) but with the variance in both individual player assignments plus the option of more plays everywhere.. field position, down, etc. it seems obvious to me that this year's offense is more complex and yet Goff seems to be catching on far more quickly than he did his rookie year. And sure, some of that is experience... but I think something else is at play here as well. - JamesJM
