Is based on a presumption by sports writers that is every bit as premature.
When discussing Goff's surrounding cast as individual players, that is - Goff NOT in the equation.. critique of said players is what you could say is 'normal'.. balanced - the good and the bad.
However, once Goff enters the equation there seems to be a tendency to base his performance on the premature assumption that all around him is now fixed... the OL, the WR's. It makes for an unfair basis for evaluating Goff, IMO.
I think the truth is much closer to the basis of the entire offensive unit progressing as one... Goff, the WR's, the OL, also the TE's and RB's are ALL a work in progress and progressing together.
