There are many reasons why players get mis-evaluated.
Take Brady for example he played well at Michigan but evaluators overlooked that because he didn't fit a certain idea of what a star NFL qb was.
He didn't show a rocket arm, was not fast or very athletic at all showed very poorly at the combine.
So his play as well as his intangibles got undervalued.
The baby analogy stands, he showed ability,
but didn't fit a certain profile.Happens all the time in the NFL.
Here's another one for you Adam Carriker.
You might remember I hated him and did not want the Rams to draft him.
But he was big, strong and dominated inferior talent. So he was all the rage.
Problem is he was stiff, robotic had no technique and dominated inferior talent with just brute strength.
He never demonstrated that he could beat anyone with technique.
As I said many times everybody is strong in the NFL, you need more in your toolbox than that.
He didn't and he never developed it despite evaluators believing he would.
It happens.
Best,
