We all know AD is a very good player, that is without question.
Problem is........Even great defensive players before him played out their rookie contracts first, then got the cash after 5 years. Rams should negotiate in good faith first, like they are. AD has the opportunity to accept the deal or not. Remember, people always have a greater self worth than what it is "actually" worth.
I want $15,000 for that 65 Mustang.....But, it's not fully restored and it will cost $8,000 to get it done.....But, it's a 65 Mustang....Right, but it's not worth $15,000 in this condition.
Remember Sam Bradford and his $60 million contract and how we could not wait for that darn thing to get done because we had "no money" for FA's?
IMHO........I would call AD and let him know the exact numbers, period. Let him say yes or no......If it's a no, then get on the phone and start trade talks. This will allow us to get a range of his "actual value" around the league. I am sure this is in the works already.........We will see where it takes us.
Remember.....He's a DT not a QB......That is a huge issue when it comes to pay cash!
