With regard to Tavon's '17 prospects, I keep coming back to this. And nobody's given me a good answer yet.
How is Tavon gonna get significant snaps in McVay's O ahead of the following players?
Watkins
Woods
Kupp
Reynolds
Those are the guys that I see on the field even in 4 WR sets. And, frankly, Cooper, Thomas, and Spruce are hot on their heels as hungry targets.
Then there's the TE's that McVay loves to incorporate in his O.
Everett
Higbee
Lots of targets for those two, don't you think?
Then there are the reports that tell us that Gurley is gonna get a bigger share of the passing targets, sometimes even out wide pre snap.
Look, I think that it's a numbers thing. So many quality receivers of all types to deploy and only one ball.
Tavon will have to really blow things up just to hold his own as a desirable weapon and target, imo.
And currently he can't even get healthy enough to see the practice field, so he's likely slipping further and further behind every day.
I dunno, man...
