In 2015, Tavon was productive, with 9 TDs on offense.
He gets paid in the same rung as guys like Emmanuel Sanders and Randall Cobb. It's not elite WR pay. Tavon isn't the pure receiver Sanders is, but then you don't use Sanders the way you used Tavon in 2015, either. (Sanders btw has never had 9 TDs.)
Unlike them he is not a pure WR and IMO can't be used as one. You use him like 2015, which in different words is precisely what McVay is saying.
So if McVay is as good as we assume, surely he can be effective in how he uses the guy who was productive at that level in 2015.
Except now it''s easier because unlike 2015 they have Watkins and Woods which creates more space for Tavon (if he's used 2015 style, which again is what McVay is saying he is going to do or saying it in so many words).
I WAS saying, with Watkins added, McVay would be crazy not to add Tavon 2015 style to the mix.
I will go further. Health permitting, especially with Watkins aboard, if McVay can't get 2015 type production out of Tavon, then, McVay isn't as good as we are assuming. I mean you can't tell me McVay can't get as much out of Tavon as Cignetti did (and Cigs didn't have Watkins.)
