They're gonna keep AD, zn. One way or another. That's a lead pipe cinch. Unless some team offers a RG3 type blockbuster trade that simply can't be refused.
So then the question becomes how many of their starters can they retain? Or, rather, want to retain?
None are "must haves", but many are strong "wants", I believe.
We'll know their respective values better by midseason, of course. But I would prefer that AD gets locked up soon and then they get proactive on some of our other soon to be UFA's.
I particularly want to keep Joyner and Alexander. I predict that they will be among the top S tandems in the league under Wade.
Don't be surprised if Barwin and Sully each have a helluva year, either.
Ironically, I'm kinda on the fence about Tree and Quinn. They're on a "show me' contract year, tbh. I'm concerned about Quinn's health and Ogletree, like dz said, is just a "pretty good" ILB. Certainly not a must have for me, anyway. But I digress...
My main point is that AD is a sure thing. 100% bankable. Just a question then of how many other expiring contracts do they want to extend. Would be nice to start hanging on to playoff caliber pieces for a change, don't you think?
No matter how you do the math it's still 8-10 players.
It can't be everyone and you have to choose.
Every good team faces this.
